He led the Global Emissions desk at Vattenfall and before that he led the CDM consultancy division at EcoSecurities. Michiel was also a member of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Clean Development Mechanism Small Scale working group for seven years, helping developing countries create certified emission reduction credits.

These include the WCI market, EU-ETS, the Canadian Federal Carbon Pricing Backstop, the BC and California Low Carbon Fuel Standards. Nicolas provides market insight, pricing, monthly risk management reports and transaction services to support clients in minimising compliance costs while maximizing opportunities.

Today Trifon heads up Business Development/Strategy at IFCHOR and is responsible for the development of new relationships & business initiatives to support the company’s long-term growth strategies. He works in close collaboration with IFCHOR’s Research Team, helping clients achieve their goals and improve key business decisions making.
